Description
St HIppolyt Glucogard Special mineralization for your horse
The correct assessment of energy requirements is a difficult task for many horse owners.
A high energy intake through too much concentrated feed or even fresh grass can have fatal consequences, especially for horses that are originally adapted to meagre living conditions.
Lack of exercise and continuous overfeeding put a strain on the carbohydrate metabolism.
- For nutrient supplementation in case of metabolic disorders
- Mineral supplementation during the grazing season and in roughage-only rations
- Supports the insulin metabolism
- With natural antioxidants
For horses with overweight and metabolic disorders, a grain- and thus carbohydrate-poor diet is necessary.
However, if the horse is fed only hay and straw, the need for specific minerals and functional nutrients cannot be adequately met.
Glucogard provides a balanced spectrum of micronutrients as well as antioxidants and plant-based protective nutrients to counteract such deficiencies.
Natural nutrients from brewer’s yeast such as vitamins of the B-complex and trivalent chromium as well as minerals such as magnesium, zinc and manganese are necessary for a well-functioning sugar and insulin metabolism.
Vital substances such as vitamin E and selenium protect the body cells from antioxidative stress.
This is especially true for the hoof complex, which is particularly at risk in overweight horses.
With its plant-based protective nutrients, Glucogard can naturally contribute to maintaining the health of the hoof complex.
Feeding Guideline
(e.g. as a supplement to Equigard or roughage rations)
During acute laminitis: 50 g per 100 kg body weight per day; where required, mix with water and administer orally with a syringe.
When laminitis has been overcome: 18-20 g per 100 kg body weight per day until the target weight has been reached, or permanently, if insulin function is impaired.
To support metabolism and hooves in horses prone to laminitis, during seasons, weather and other situations (grazing) with a high risk of laminitis: 18-20 g per 100 kg body weight per day, e.g. for 4-8 weeks.
1 measuring cup = 120 g
Feeding advice: For permanent sole feeding we recommend supplementing with SemperMin or SemperCube.
